Overview

JBF5174 sounder beacons is used in Jade Bird Fire JBF-11SF and JBF5000 series fire alarm systems. The sounder beacon gives high decibel alarm sounds and flashes LED light when a fire occurs in public place. Suitable for indoor (non-residential) public places, such as hotel rooms, office buildings, libraries, theaters, postal buildings, etc.

  Product features

• Built-in crested ibis microprocessor that specialized in fire protection.
• Adopt SMT process.
• Two-wire, polarity free loop.
• It is recommended to use twisted cable for the loop. Its cross-sectional area should not be less than 1.5 mm².
• Support two kinds of alarm sounds, and can set sound-only alarm and light-only alarm. Settable through addressing.

Installation

 Installation steps

• The sounder beacon adopts unfolded installation.
• After the wiring, fix the base of the sounder beacon to the wall (using M4 bolts), pitch of holes:  45mm~68mm.

• It is recommended to use twisted cable for the loop. Its cross-sectional area should not be less than 1.5 mm².
• Before installation, use an electronic encoder to write the corresponding address to the product. The address should be consistent with the one in the engineering software.
• Connect the two wires of the loop to terminals 1 and 2, polarity-free.
• The sounder beacon should be installed after wiring inspection and before debugging to prevent losses caused by improper installation

• Commissioning

  • First use electronic encoder to write address to the sounder beacon. The address range is 1 ~ 200.
  • After successfully writing the address, connect the sounder beacon to the control panel to register it.
  • In case of fire, the control panel sends out fire command, and the sounder beacon gives out sound and LED flashing light alarms.

  Troubleshooting

  Trouble	Causes	Solutions	Notes
  The control panel reports fault	Loop not connected.	Rewire the loop.
  	The actual address of the sounder beacon is not the same as the one in engineering software.	Write address to the product following the project engineering software.
  Unable to register the device	The device is not addressed.	Address the device using encoder.

  Maintenance

  • Daily maintenance, maintenance, and calibration
  • Conduct alarm test regularly, every six months recommended.

  After opening the package, please check the appearance and functions of the product. Should there be any loss or damage to the sounder beacon, please contact us soon. Once determined that the damage is not caused by human factors, we will replace it for the customer immediately.
